Gloria Jean Christopherson, 80, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at her home. Family will greet friends and family from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the Marion Gospel Hall, located at 755 Grand Ave., Marion. Burial will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Gloria was born on Oct. 21, 1942, in Big Fork, Minn., the youngest of five daughters to Harold and Lillie (Sackett) Crowson. She was a 1961 graduate of Black River Falls High School in Black River Falls, Wis. On Sept. 7, 1963, Gloria was united in marriage to Allan “Al” Roy Christopherson in La Crosse, Wis. To this union, two daughters were born, Tracy and Tami. Since 1963, Gloria fellowshipped at the Gospel Halls in both Marion and Ankeny, Iowa. She committed her life to assisting Al in his gospel work. Gloria loved to bake, sew and crochet. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren. Gloria will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Gloria is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Al Christopherson of Marion; two daughters, Tracy (Brian) Elliott of Marion and Tami (Ray) Hiatt of Lakewood, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Anthony (Laura) Elliott of Garnavillo, Iowa, Annette Elliott of San Diego, Calif., Geraldine Elliott and Leslie Elliott, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Rachel Hiatt, Leah Hiatt, Ella Hiatt and Danny Hiatt, all of Lakewood, Colo.; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Bruley of Onalaska, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lillie Crowson; and three sisters, Dolly Asche, Dorothy Salo and Betty Naber.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gloria’s memory may be directed to Truth & Tidings Gospel Trust at 37177 White Tail Ct., Farmington Hills, MI 48335.
