Glenn John Pickart, 84, of Gulfport, Fla., passed away Feb. 27, 2017, in Tennessee.
He was born in Watkins, Iowa, and grew up in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, where he played baseball and football. In addition, he served in the Iowa and Texas National Guards and the U.S. Army. He was a deacon at Holy Name Catholic Church in Florida for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, to whom he was married for 62 years. He also leaves behind four children; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lyle, in Minnesota; a sister, Sister Romaine, O.S.F., in Iowa; and in-laws, Deacon David (Alice) McGhee in Iowa, Elaine McGhee in Wisconsin and Carol McGhee in Georgia.
He was preceded in death by five other siblings, Clyde, Chuck, Joe, Hazel and Ruth.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. March 25 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Gulfport, Fla.
