Glendora L. Simon, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at her home. Graveside services were held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Glendora was born on Nov. 25, 1928, in Cedar Rapids to James and Ethel Young Kidwell. Glendora was raised in the Anamosa and Monticello area.
During World War II the family lived in the West, but later moved to Monticello. In 1947, she graduated from Monticello High School.
In October 1947, she was married to Earl Mottinger but later divorced. She then married Edward Simon in 1964, until his death in 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann (Dale) Sager and Tammy (Charles) Simon; one son, James (Marcia) Mottinger; one stepson, Eddie (Linda) Simon; and two grandchildren, Sydney and Jonathan Sager.
Glendora was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Shirley Bascom and an infant; a daughter; one son; and a grandson.
She was a lover of country music and an avid reader and enjoyed word puzzles. She loved being with family, especially her grandchildren.
