GLENDOLYN "SIS" HOGE

Glendolyn "Sis" Hoge, 96, formerly of Waubeek, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, after a brief stay in the hospital in Jackson, Tenn. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Springville Cemetery immediately following the service.
Sis is survived by her son, Ron (Sandi) Hoge of Plymouth, Mich.; her daughter, Dee (Vic) Wallace of Jackson, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan "Ike" Hoge. They were married at the Little Brown Church in 1939 and enjoyed 71 years of marriage.
Sis was born March 4, 1920, to Elfa Belle and Glen Jones, in Cedar County, Iowa. She graduated from Springville High School in 1937, worked at Briner's Store in Springville when she was 14, and also modeled for Killian's. She and Ike opened Hoge's Grocery in Whittier in 1940. Sis was involved with the Methodist Church in Waubeek. She enjoyed teaching the 3 C's class and organizing and helping with church activities until it closed in 1966. Sis really enjoyed her job at Rockwell and retired after 23 years.
Sis enjoyed golf, crafts, playing cards with the "girls" and visiting with her Tennessee friends.
