Glenda Binkeley Sharp, 78, died June 3, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center. Her body was cremated.
Survivors include her children, Rosanne Enesi, Christine England and Eugene R. Sharp; grandchildren, Erica Goodknight, Tara Hatch, Neticia Enesi, Jacob Hatch, Demetri Enesi and Shaina Jacobson; great-grand-children, Johnathan Lamb, Kinnick Lamb and Autumn Jacobson; and niece, Valerie Steel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Ortlip and Valentine Eggett; brother, Ronnie; two half sisters, Shirley and Jean; and three half brothers, John, Donald and Soren.
Glenda was born Sept. 28, 1935, in San Francisco, Calif. She was an avid swimmer and coach over the years in Cedar Rapids and could always be found swimming until recently. She tried hard not to miss a day in the pool. She was the first women to accomplish two major feats, the swim to Alcatraz and back and the Lake Tahoe swim.
