Gladys Ester Zavodsky, 93, of Marengo, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Koszta Cemetery, Koszta.

Glady's was born July 22, 1924, to Joseph and Francis (Stroleny) Kubik. She attended country school near Walker, Iowa. On Dec. 17, 1947, Gladys married Jerry Zavodsky Jr. in Marengo at the Presbyterian Church. Together, they raised two sons. Gladys helped out on the farm and worked for Wilson's meatpacking plant in Cedar Rapids.
Gladys enjoyed horses, which she had as pets her whole life. She also liked gardening and playing cards.
Gladys is survived by her sons, Jerry (Robin) Zavodsky III of Pleasantville and Michael Zavodsky of Marengo; a grandchild, Justin Zavodsky of Pleasantville; brothers, Stanley (Kay) and Gerold (Dorie) Kubik; and sisters, Bonnie and Grace Kubik; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; brothers, Raymond and Eddy Kubik; sister, Martha Zeadow; sisters-in-law, Gladys Zavodsky and Ruth Gorsch and brother-in-law, Raymond "Mike" Zavodsky.
