Gladys Marie Snethen, 94, formerly of Henry Court NW, Cedar Rapids, died peacefully Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018.
Services are Saturday, Aug. 18, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories: Viewing at 10 a.m. and Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. Reception immediately afterward at Trinity St. James Methodist Church. The Rev. Lee Kruse will officiate; lay minister SanDee Skelton will assist.
Survivors include her brother, Cleve Coberly; sisters, Mary Pederson, Caroline Lala and Millie Boland; granddaughter, Lee Kruse (formerly known as Brenda Thomas); and two great-grandchildren, Shaylee and Hunter Kruse.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James E. Snethen; and her beautiful daughter, Inez "Inee" Snethen.
Gladys was born Oct. 23, 1923, to George and Inez Coberly. Gladys was an entrepreneur alongside her husband, Jim, during the early years with Snethen Construction and later in Amway.
Gladys was a member at (Trinity) St. James Methodist Church. Her faith was lived out in her daily generosity and encouragement to her loved ones and all people she met. Gladys already is greatly missed by her family and friends, but is finally celebrating with Jim and Inee in Heaven.
