GLADYS MARY NOVAK

Gladys Mary Novak, 76, of Coralville, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Windmill Manor Nursing Home. Services: 1 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, where visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Brother David Harkin will officiate.
Survivors include her children, Brian (Joanie) Damon of Alabama, Loretta (Christopher) Tesar of Cedar Rapids and Kathy Jo (Paul Henchelin) Wenndt of Delaware, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Cecil and Gregory Novak; and her brother, Robert Brake.
Gladys was born Feb. 11, 1941, in Lowell, Mass., the daughter of Arthur and Johanna (Brake) Scott. Gladys was a homemaker and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, where she was very active in her faith. Gladys enjoyed reading, genealogy, crosswords and playing cards. She also loved French culture and eating out.
Gladys always will be remembered for her great wit and sense of humor and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
