She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Myers (2012); her father, John Hoppe (1991); and by her mother, Virginia Hoppe, on Aug. 8, 2016.
Ginger was born Dec. 21, 1959, the daughter of Virginia Krauss Hoppe and John Hoppe of Amana. She graduated from Amana High School in 1978. She attended Kirkwood Community College, studying business management. Ginger was united in marriage to Chris Myers on Feb. 10, 1984, in her family home in Amana. She was a lifelong member of the Amana Church.
Joining the family business, Krauss Furniture and Clock Shop in South Amana, Ginger worked nearly all aspects of the business, but particularly excelled at sales. She was proud of the Krauss family legacy of craftsmanship and customer service, encouraging her husband to master furniture making.
In 2008, she joined the staff at Casey's in Amana, where she put her professional training and sales ability to good use, enjoying the customer interaction and the opportunity to see friends and neighbors. Also in 2008, she and Chris started Oscar's Wood Products which they operated together until his death.
Ginger enjoyed cooking, and she and Chris loved to welcome friends and family to their home. Ginger loved being an aunt and cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews. Walking her dogs, travel, cruise vacations and time spent with her mom, her family and her many close friends were most important to her.
