Ginger Lei Alachniewicz, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died at home on Monday, March 27, 2023. Services: 1 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2023, Teahen Funeral Home by Penny Ackerman. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home.
Ginger is survived by her father, Stephen of Cedar Rapids; brother, Todd (Jennifer) Alachniewicz of Fort Dodge; sister, Tammy (Rick) Dawson of Eagle Grove; nephews, Tyler Alachniewicz and Jacob, Mark, and Dustin Dawson; nieces, Ryann and Emily Dawson.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary.
Ginger was born on April 29, 1969, in Beuford, S.C., daughter of Stephen and Mary Todd Alachniewicz. She received one BA degree in mathematics and one BA degree in physics, and was a lead architect in programming for ACT.
Ginger liked helping people, computer gaming, casinos and astronomy. She also enjoyed watching movies, reading and had a large comic book collection.
