Gillette, Thelma Kathleen
MARION - Thelma Kathleen Gillette, 95 years and 2 days, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, Iowa, died there Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Pastor John Seitz. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo.
Survivors include her son, Charles (Joyce) Gillette of Washburn; her daughter, Margaret (Thomas) Demorest of Marion; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
Thelma was born Sept. 12, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Jennie (Wendall) Cunningham, in Edgewood, Iowa. She married J. Gordon Gillette on Dec. 29, 1940, at St. Paul Methodist Church in Waterloo. Thelma worked and retired from Kmart.
A memorial fund has been established in Thelma's memory.
