Gertrude "Trudy" Mitchell, 94, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Grundy Center, died Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at her home. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, at New Life Community Church, Marion. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family.
Trudy was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Fern, Iowa, the daughter of Adolf and Hilkalena (Stickfort) Hippen. She married Donald Mitchell on June 20, 1959, in Waterloo. Trudy was a homemaker and a member of New Life Community Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela Blad of Marion; granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Blad of Cedar Rapids; and sister, Jeanette Brown of Tucson, Ariz.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
