GERALDINE "GERRY" STODOLA

Geraldine Kay "Gerry" Stodola, 66, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at St. John Lutheran Church in
Newhall, with the Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating. Friends may register at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. The family invites you to join them at 7 p.m. Saturday at Jersey's Pub Downtown, 200 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, to celebrate "Gerry's" life.
A memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall.
Gerry was born Sept. 20, 1947, in Lansing, Ill., to Rudolph "Rudy" and Norma (Daehn) Fehlberg, and graduated from Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing. On Aug. 2, 1969, she was united in marriage to Gary Stodola in Lansing.
Gerry was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall. She lived to spend time with her family. A "free-spirit," she was loved by all who met her.
She was employed as a cash office manager at K-Mart West in Cedar Rapids for 35 years and as a clerk at Thiesen's in Cedar Rapids for 10 years.
Gerry is survived by her husband, Gary of Newhall; her sons, Brian (Amy) Stodola of Marion and Kurt Stodola of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Brian's daughter, Grace, and Kurt's daughter, Rylan; her sisters, Betty (Bob) Shefts of Calumet City, Ill., Sue (Randy) Dykstra of Beecher, Ill., and Penny (Mike) Jakubas of Crystal Beach, Fla.; her brother, Tom (Pat) Fehlberg of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
