Geraldine "Gerry" Broghamer, 84, of Decorah, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse, Wis. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Phil Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be no visitation; the family will greet friends after the Mass. Arrangements are being handled by Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah.

Gerry's survivors include her three children, Mary Hansen, Cedar Rapids, Scott (Kari) Brog-hamer, Iowa City, and Bill Broghamer, Pasadena, Calif.; four grandchildren, Joshua Broghamer, Phoenix, Ariz., Jenna Brog-hamer, New York City, Cody Broghamer, Phoenix, and Chelsea Broghamer, Rhode Island; a brother, Tom (Carol) Truman, Canton, Minn.; two sisters, Marge Muchich, Jackson, Mich., and Gayleen Sullivan, Independence, Kan.; sisters-in-law, Marie Broghamer, Decorah, and JoAnne Truman, St. Paul, Minn.; brother-in- law: Ralph Bartels, Houston, Texas; along with several loving nieces and nephews.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Leona (Knox) Truman; her husband, Morand Broghamer on Jan. 28, 2007; a son-in-law, Gary Hansen; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Agnes Broghamer; a brother, Bill Truman; three sisters, Wanda Bartels, Anna Marie Truman and Mary Jean Tummel; four brothers-in-law, Dr. Ralph Muchich, Frank Shelton, Marcellus Broghamer and John Sullivan; a niece, Tearza Broghamer; and a nephew, Jeff Truman.
