GERALD WILGENBUSCH Center Point Gerald Lee Wilgenbusch, 58, of Center Point, died suddenly on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. He was born on Feb. 15, 1956, in Manchester, the son of Emil and Helen (Goedken) Wilgenbusch. Gerald attended parochial schools through the seventh grade and then graduated from West Delaware Community High School with the class of 1974. He served honorably in the United States Air Force. When Gerald returned from the service, he sold insurance for eight years. In 1988, he worked for Rockwell Goss in Cedar Rapid building printing presses. In 1991, Gerald enrolled in the University of Iowa to complete his BBA degree with a major in finance. After graduating, he began working as a commodities broker in Cedar Falls. He presently worked for Cargill. Gerald was united in marriage to Deb Jilovec on Feb. 19, 2000. They later divorced. Gerald is survived by his two children, Jayden and Aubry Wilgenbusch, both of Cedar Rapids; three step-children, Nicole, Amanda and Cameron Jilovec; six stepgrandchildren; his siblings, Judy Martin (Willard James) of Cedar Rapids, David Wilgenbusch of Cedar Rapids, Charles (Paula) Wilgenbusch of Ryan, Joyce (David) Hoover of Carol Stream, Ill., Mark (Dee) Wilgenbusch of Charles Town, W.Va., Leon Wilgenbusch of Manchester, Margaret (Gene) Palmersheim of Greeley and Patrick Wilgenbusch of Masonville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Paul Wilgenbusch; and a sister-in-law, Vicki Wilgenbusch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for Aubry's and Jayden's educational funds. Friends may also call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Cornerstone Community Church, Manchester, with Pastor Tim Agrimson officiating. Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
