Gerald R. Trimble, 65, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids after a long battle with congestive heart failure.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the First Church of the Open Bible (1911 E Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids). A celebration of life will be held Dec. 27 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Atkins Legion Hall. Per Jerry's request, his body has been donated to medical research.
Jerry was born on Nov. 11, 1951, to Gerald W. and Marcella (Nice) Trimble. He married Theresa Ann (Skoglund) Sliter on June 5, 1994. He worked as a painter for Mestek/Iowa Precision for many years and took great pride in his work. Jerry also worked at Highway Equipment in Cedar Rapids. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren, fishing, and telling stories.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Theresa Ann; sons, Matt Trimble, Jamie (Carie Schmuecker) Trimble and Joe (Megan) Trimble; stepchildren, Jason Sliter, Aaron (Jacki Ludwig) Sliter, Ryan Sliter and Tyanna Weller; grandchildren, Austin, Riley, Allie, Sophia, Katie, Anna, Ashley, Cassy, Joe, Ethan, Elizabeth, Emily, Ryanna, Andrew, Harrison and Dominic; great-granddaughter, Kaylee; brothers, Tim Trimble and Todd (Tina) Trimble; half brothers, Gary, Glenn and Rusty McCune; half sister, Gail Trimble; special friends, Angela and Brian West; and his furry family, Raven, Brody, Xanadu and Classic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Trimble; sister, Peggy Tebbe; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
