Gerald Ray Tenney, 73, of Cedar Rapids, arrived at the gates of Heaven at home surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Stonebridge Church in Cedar Rapids with visitation one hour before the service. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at 2 p.m. following the service.
Gerald was born Oct. 26, 1944, the son of Robert and Gretchen (Hubbard) Tenney, in Oak Park, Ill. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. On Oct. 18, 1974, Gerald was married to Linda Diane Binley-Mere in Cedar Rapids. He was employed at LeFebure until its closing, then with J E Adams Industries until his retirement.
Gerald had a great love for camping, motorcycling and his Harleys. He co-coached his daughters on their Cedar Rapids/Marion metro softball team. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; sons, Trent and Cory; daughters, Katie (Mike) and Bobbie; granddaughters, Lexi, Tennley and Mikala; twin brother, Harold (Nancy); and daughter-in-law, Beth.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Gerald.
