Gerald "Jay" B. Lohman, Jr., longtime resident of Rock Creek, died at his home on October 30, 2025. He was 82.
Jay was born on August 23, 1943, in Springfield, Illinois and grew up in Burlington. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He met Jane Warth (New London) while attending Northeast Missouri State. They were married on December 10, 1966.
Jay spent the majority of his career with Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company.
Jay is survived by his beloved wife, Jane; four kids, Jerry, Gretchen, John, Jim; and four grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 9 from 1-4 pm at Grinnell Brewhouse, 923 Main Street, Grinnell.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Friends of Drake Community Library, 930 Park St., Grinnell, IA 50112.
