Gerald James Payton, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on June 20, 2025, after a short stay in The Woodland facility at Meth-Wick Community in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Gerald moved into Meth-Wick Community in February of 2023. While living in The Manor he enjoyed two-plus wonderful years of participating in the extensive activities on Meth-Wick’s campus. His favorite activities were socializing with the marvelous residents and staff with daily visits to the campus pond to feed the koi fish.

Memorial services will be held on September 6, 2025, and will be conducted by Slade-O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa with interment at Maple Row Cemetery in Kellerton, Iowa.
