Homestead
Gerald “Gary” Schaapveld, 79, of Homestead, died Oct. 18, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Lone Tree. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at the funeral home. A private burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nichols at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Gary. Online condolences for the Schaapveld family may be sent to www.sandhfuneralservice.com.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Schaapveld; son, Eric Schaapveld; four grandchildren; brothers, Warren (Ann) Schaapveld and Lonny (Nancy) Schaapveld; and sisters-in-law, Karen and Joyce Schaapveld.
