Gerald "Pat" Dale Annis, 79, of Central City, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at his home. In agreement with his wishes, a private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Inurnment will take place at Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City, in the spring of 2018.
Pat was born May 30, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Dale and Margaret (O'Connor) Annis. He graduated from Central City Community School and worked in the maintenance department at Rockwell Collins until retiring in 1993. Pat was a 12-year member of the Central City Fire Department. He loved spending time with his great-great-nephews, Parker and Mason, and great-great-niece, Addison. Pat also looked forward to his daily walks outside in Central City.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his niece, Christine (Kevin) Anderson of Independence, Mo.; great- nieces, Linsey (Thomas) Eiben of Central City, Kimberly Johnson of Monticello and Samantha Annis of Tiffin; great-nephew, Nick Anderson of Independence, Mo.; great-great-niece, Addison Eiben; and great-great- nephews, Parker Johnson and Mason Eiben.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Loren Annis; nephew, Kevin Annis; and his dogs, Joe and Elli.
