West Amana
Georgia K. Geiger, 73, of West Amana, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at her home following a sudden illness. Per her wishes, her body was donated to medical research. Memorial service: 7 p.m. Friday, April 24, Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1007 Rider St., Iowa City, with Pastor Dale Morrison officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting with arrangements.
Georgia is survived by a son, Kurt S. Geiger of the Philippines; a daughter, Liese Vanderbroek of Ames; and a half sister, Dolores LaGrange (Robert) of Amana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles in 2013.
Georgia Karen Schoenfelder was born Sept. 8, 1941, in Amana, Iowa, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Ertzinger Schoenfelder. She graduated from Amana High School and married Charles J. Geiger on Nov. 30, 1964, in Omaha, Neb. The couple resided in West Amana and were active in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and Muscatine Seventh Day Adventist Churches. Charles passed away in 2013.
