Georgene M. Grimm, 82, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation: 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2024, Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral: 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the Funeral Home. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Georgene Grimm was born on August 30, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of George J. and Angeline M. (Cicanti) Staub. She married Merle Grimm in Las Vegas, Nevada.
George enjoyed traveling and music.
George is survived by her husband, children, Donna Hood, Connie Myer, Angela Karasek, and Tammy (Vince) Harman; stepsons, Rex (Darla) Grimm, and Rick (Andrea) Grimm; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Toni (Brant) Simpson, and Rose Northen; and dog Maxie Jr.
George was preceded in death by her parents, grandchildren, Alicia Bascom, and Sara Harman; and great-grandchild, Jamil Wampler.
A general memorial fund has been established for the family, in care of Merle Grimm.
