GEORGE THOMAS STENTZ
Springville
George Thomas Stentz passed away Friday, April 1, 2016, in Florida.
George was born Jan. 14, 1939, to Dale and Eva (Thompson) Stentz. He was a member of the Springville High School class of 1956. After graduation from the University of Iowa, he resided in St. Louis, Mo. George retired from Defense Mapping Agency after a 45-year career.
He was a 50-plus-year member of the Springville Masonic Lodge and also belonged to Scottish Rite and Moolah Shrine. George was an avid fan of thoroughbred horse racing and Iowa Hawkeye football, basketball and wrestling.
George was preceded in death by his parents and his spouse, Emilia Stentz.
He is survived by his siblings, David of The Villages, Fla., Don (Shirley) of Springville, Mary (Richard) Carlson of The Villages; and one stepson, Tony (Doy) Campos of St. Louis.
A memorial service will be held in mid July in St. Louis.
