Montgomery, Texas
George Spencer Nevins, 83, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away March 2, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on Dec. 4, 1937, in Columbia, Mo., to Admil and Rita Nevins. George
grew up in central Iowa and attended Norway High School and later Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He met the love of his life during his high school years and they were married in 1957.
George spent his entire career in the construction equipment industry. Link-Belt Construction Equipment Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids was his first job in the construction world. Then he went on to Chicago to work for McAllister Equipment Inc., where he began his sales and management positions. He ended his lifelong career owning his own business in Houston, Texas.
George's love for his wife and his children was endless. He will always be remembered by his family for his concern and generosity! He had three children, Michael, Mitchell (Laura) and Michelle Krisch (Sean); 10 grandchildren, Taylor, Connor (Jennifer), Nicholas (Alexandra), Morgan (Michael Gonzales), Molly, Shannon (Ryan Carr), Matthew, Christopher, Bradley and Hallie; and three great-grandchildren, Cash, Grayson and Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his mother; father; brother, Theodore Nevins; and sister, Jane Larsen.
A private burial ceremony will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plantersville, Texas, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or cards, the family asks that donations in George's name be made to the V Foundation for Cancer Research at www.v.org.
