George Henry Lehr died peacefully in his sleep at home on 3/27/24. George was born on 4/29/41 in Chicago area to Helen Mickaelson. He was married to the love of his life Maureen on 9/30/61, for 57 years of marriage. They are now reunited.
He is survived by two sons, Bret (Vicki) Lehr and Brad (Sara) Lehr; six grandsons, Garrett Lehr (Tara), Tanner Lehr (Brie), Austin Lehr, Kristian Thomas (Cammie), Chandler Thomas and Conner Hammond; and great-grandson, Aaro Lehr and great-granddaughter Bettie Thomas. Also, surviving half-sister, Pat Fuglsang.
He worked at Cherry Burrell for 38 years and then after retirement worked at College Community school district for 10 years.
George enjoyed spending time with his family most of all. He also loved car shows, casinos, and motorcycles.
He enjoyed camping and fishing. He loved playing cards daily with his wife, Maureen. He was a member of the Cedar Rapids horsemen’s club and enjoyed participating in many of their events.
George was a prankster. He loved to play jokes and scare the boys. He was loyal and trusting to all that were to him and his loved ones.
Services are set for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
