George Edward Davison Jr., 74, of Marion, Iowa, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Monday, May 19, 2025. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Marion. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Springville Cemetery in Springville, Iowa.
George was born on June 4, 1950, in Aledo, Illinois, to George Sr. and Zona (Munson) Davison. He graduated from Marion High School and went on to attend the University of Dubuque. On August 22, 1970, he married Linda Sue Mann in Marion, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Diane and Pam. He retired from Teamsters Local 238 in 2011, having previously retired from Laborers Local 43 a few years earlier. He was also an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion.
He cherished his family above all else. He was his grandson’s biggest fan, and his granddaughter held a special place in his heart. When he wasn’t with his loved ones, he could often be found golfing or fishing. He also enjoyed visiting Panama City Beach.
He is survived by his spouse, Linda Davison; daughters, Diane Gallagher (Eric Keating), and Pam (Scott) Kloser; grandchildren, Sasha, Brennen, and Jack; and brother, Steve Davison.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the care of Linda Davison.
