Genevieve Mae Servey, 98, passed away April 13, 2023, at Colonial Manor of Amana. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories from 9 to 10 a.m., with a memorial service starting at 10 a.m.
Genevieve was born Oct. 10, 1924, to Everett and Nellie (Brown) McDonald in Pineville, Ky. After she completed her schooling, she worked various jobs around the country. She married Joseph Servey on Oct. 4, 1945, in Knoxville, Tenn., and together, with their family, they would travel the world following Joseph’s military career. She loved bowling, crocheting and helping others in their time of need. She volunteered with the Red Cross and even taught Sunday School. She would help others by making meals, baking treats and sew whatever they needed. She loved her family, and was very proud of all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Genevieve is survived by her children, Thomas, Diane, Patrick, Don, and Jon; siblings, Grace, Bobby, Betty, Barbara, Buddy, and Anne; she is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great+great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; sons, Joseph Jr. and Michael; and her siblings, Clayton, Howard, Rosemary and Julia.
