Gen was born in Chippewa Falls, Wis., on Aug. 20, 1930, the daughter of Marvin and Mildred (Aude) Luedke. She married Clinton Jeffers on Aug. 28, 1948, in Chippewa Falls. Gen was a faithful supporter to her husband, as he pastored and ministered to churches in Walker and Lisbon, Portage and Baraboo, Wis., and later, Cedar Rapids and Covington, over the course of their 70 years together. She was a devoted mother to her daughters and deeply loved all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, praying for them daily. One of Gen's gifts was that of hospitality. She was a wonderful cook and worked many years in school lunch programs both in Iowa and Wisconsin. More recently, she coordinated senior meals at Southeast Linn Community Center in Lisbon and Witwer Senior Dining in Cedar Rapids. Her strong, energetic spirit and zest for life were qualities she shared with her friends and family, and we will miss her dearly.
Survivors include her husband, Pastor Clinton Jeffers of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Vickie Gregg of Lisbon and Cathy (Mark) Risse of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Andrew Gregg of Los Angeles, Tim (Iris) Gregg of Ankeny, Kirsten (Rusty) Mensch of Allen, Texas, Daniel (Michelle) Risse of San Antonio, Texas, Michael (Jacquelyn) Risse of Greeley, Colo., and Alaina Risse of Colorado Springs, Colo.; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Junior Luedke of Cadott, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Kathryn Bateman.
