Gene was born on Nov. 2, 1934, to Emmett and De Etta (Olliver) Kelley in Dubuque, Iowa. Gene worked in construction most of his life until having a stroke in 2007. Gene was what you would call a "jack of all trades." There wasn't a job too big or too small he couldn't do. He married Goldie Ingles in May 2007. Gene enjoyed trips up north in the fall, old car shows and going to casinos.
Gene is survived by his wife, Goldie Kelley; six children, Gene "Buck" (Kathy) Kelley, Carl (Theresa) Kelley, Connie (John) Paul, Kenneth "Huck" (Stacy) Kelley, Vicki (Scott) Heick and Kevin "Joe" (June) Kelley; three stepchildren, Loretta Dreir, Rod (Jeni) Ingles and Dawn (David) Claver; eight grandchildren, 14 stepgrandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi Regan and Mary (Eldon) Weiss; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Madonna (Sam) Klouda; one sister, Margie Theisen; and three brothers, Neil, Cledis and Olliver Kelley.
