Gearhart, Lorraine
Lorraine Gearhart, 85, of Manchester, died Sunday, April 25, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at the United Methodist Church in Manchester, with the Rev. Roger Henry officiating. Friends may call from 2 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester and from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Manchester.
Survivors include her four children, Dianne Baumgartner of Dundee and Bonita Springs, Fla., Dennis (Shirley) Gearhart of Rockford, Ill., Bonnie Gearhart of Ankeny and Bill Gearhart of Manchester; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Cynthia Hoover of Bettendorf, Roxanne Anderson of Monticello, Georgia Moorman of Manchester, Michelle Minick of Rockford, Ill., Michael Gearhart of Winnebago, Ill., Todd Hamblin and Jennifer Hamblin, both of Ankeny, Robert Gearhart of Manchester, Amanda Gearhart of Quasqueton and Jacob Gearhart of Manchester; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lois Mott; a brother-in-law, Wilson Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Gearhart on May 16, 2001; her parents, Fritz and Ella Eibey; two sisters, Ethel Bawden and Esther Smith; one brother, Donald Eibey; her son-in-law, Rodney Baumgartner; and her daughter-in-law, Diane “Rans” Gearhart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Manchester United Methodist Church, St. Luke's Hospice, or Regional Medical Center Hospice of Comfort.
