Gary William Metz, 69, passed away June 13, 2022. Per his wishes, no visitation or public services will be held.
Gary was born on Dec. 13, 1952, in Williamsburg, Iowa, to Henry and Alma Metz. He graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1971. He was a member of the National Guard for six years.
Gary worked in the automotive industry for many years until opening his own shop, North Liberty Auto, for 30 years until retirement. He met his wife Vicki in 1977 and later married in 1987.
Gary is survived by his wife, Vicki, of 35 years; three children, Torri Metz of North Liberty, Daniel Metz of San Diego and Bobbie (Jason) Huber of Solon; and sisters, Mary (Bill) Roach of Arkansas and Sandy Thomas of Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Henry and Alma Marie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can by made to the family.
