Gary Sheriff, 69, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids under hospice care. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 1:00- 3:00 PM. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Gary was born April 9, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, the son of George and Betty (Grooms) Sheriff. He attended Wilson High School and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. Gary enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and playing his electronic slot machine game. He will be missed by his family and friends.
His survivors include his children, Jesse Sheriff, Diana Davis, and Michael Bentley, and his siblings, Nancy Sisco and Rick Sheriff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty; brothers, George Jr., Timothy Sr., and Virgil; and sister, Kathy Walton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Nancy Sisco.
