Gerhard C. "Gary" Poppe passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
He was born to Carl and Edwris (Biggart) Poppe on Dec. 25, 1944.
Gary is survived by two sisters, Judy (John) Swift of Johnston and Luann (Warren) Byerly of Marion; three daughters, Suzan Poppe-Pauley of Grapevine, Texas, Sally Jo Heddinger of San Antonio, Texas, and Sheila Hayes of Mansfield, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Gary was predeceased by his parents.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, in the chapel at Marion First United Methodist Church, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m.
