Gary L. Shipley, 64, passed away Sept. 8, 2022, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Gary was born Dec. 1, 1957, the son of Harold and Rilla Shipley. Gary grew up in Hills, Iowa. Gary was a quiet, good-natured man who enjoyed playing and watching football, and loved chess. We are saddened by his loss, but his memory will continue through all of us.
Gary’s family includes his mother, Rilla Shipley; siblings, Larry (Deb) Shipley and extended family, Mary (Bruce) Vrchoticky; nieces, Larissa (Jeremy) Bercier and great-nephew, Jacob Bild; Lacey Vrchoticky and great-niece, Andrea Vrchoticky; and his three children and grandchildren.
Gary was laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.
Memorial contributions in Gary’s memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
