Gary Martin Greaser, 71, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour before the service Saturday at the chapel. A private inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Gary was born Aug. 9, 1943, in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Harold and Edna (Johnson) Greaser. He married Trudy Parsons on July 6, 1964, in Charleston, S.C. Gary worked in the customer service depart-ment and retired from Apache Hose & Belting Co. after 30 years of service.
He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will always be remembered for being a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and avid Hawkeye fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Trudy Greaser of Cedar Rapids; two children, Michelle (Dennis) Hanke of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jeff Greaser of Dallas, Texas; his father, Harold Greaser of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Dylan Elliott of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Doug Greaser of Cedar Rapids and Gregg (Patty) Greaser of Hiawatha; and a niece, Kalli Wilson.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Greaser.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
