Gary Erwin Goldsmith, 77, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Clarence and Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, April 7, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, at First Christian Church in Oskaloosa. Burial of his ashes will be in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Clarence.
Survivors include his wife, Filomena Goldsmith; children, Tracy Goldsmith of Grinnell, Todd Goldsmith of Oskaloosa and Laura Cellucci of Newton; a brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Mary Goldsmith of Oskaloosa; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Goldsmith.
Gary Erwin Goldsmith, son of Norman Frederick and Mabel Luella (Buckley) Goldsmith, was born Aug. 28, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa. Gary was raised on a farm near Clarence and graduated from Iowa State University in 1960. Gary was at the Wilson Packing Co. in Cedar Rapids before moving to Oskaloosa. Gary was a realtor for over 40 years in Oskaloosa.
