Gary Dean Frump, 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 26, 2022. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. A funeral service will be held at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories following the visitation and will begin at 11 a.m. with burial taking place after the service.
Gary was born April 19, 1949, to John and Rosaline Frump, in Indianapolis, Ind. After high school, he served in the United States Marine Corps. He married Mary Szymanek on July 22, 2000. He worked many years for SERVPRO and as a bar tender.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing and football, especially cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Indianapolis Colts. He loved to spend time with his family.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children, Jennifer (Kevin) and Brian Frump; stepsons, Brian, and Jeff; five grandchildren; and his siblings, Ken of Florida, Katheen and Nancy of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
