Gary Earl Webster
Age 74, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on December 13, 2025.
Gary was born on January 2, 1951, in Iowa City, Iowa, and spent most of his life in Oxford, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm, where he developed a deep love for hard work, the outdoors, and John Deere tractors—values that shaped his life and brought him endless joy.
Known for his quick wit and thoughtful nature, Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who never liked to sit still. He was always on the move, whether it was enjoying time with his loved ones, pursuing his hobbies, or simply lending a hand when needed. His warmth, love, and laughter were a constant source of joy to his family and friends.
Gary had many passions. He enjoyed fishing, attending truck pulls, listening to music, and watching his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes—especially basketball—both in person and on TV. He found peace in the beauty of flowers, the delicate process of hatching butterflies, and the companionship of his pets, including his beloved orange cat.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Kristie; daughters Tina Regier of Kansas City, Kansas, and Megan (Dejan) Praljak of Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren Mila and Luka Praljak, and Tyler Regier; and sisters Janet Webster of Coralville, Iowa, and Joann Webster of Iowa City, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Irene Webster; his brother, Larry Webster; and his sister, Jean Van Beek.
Gary's legacy of love, laughter, and his constant energy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A private celebration of his life will be held in his honor.
