GARY (COCKEYE) BRONEMANN
Monticello
Gary (Cockeye) Bronemann, 72, passed away Feb. 1, 2022, in Monticello, of cancer surrounded by his family.
Gary was born on Sept. 29, 1949, the son of Don and Theresa (Ehlts) Bronemann. Gary served in the Vietnam War, receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart in 1970. He worked at Engery Mfg., and in the Family foods and Fareway stores until he retired.
He enjoyed collecting memorabilia, going to casinos and listening to rock 'n roll music. You always knew when Gary was around, as you could hear him whistling. He will be missed.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marje and Susie; and brothers, Bob and Don.
He is survived by his brothers, Larry (Shady) (Ellie), James (Katie) and Mike; sisters, Judy Leggett, Jean Ann Grimm and Penny (Dean) Ehrisman; many nieces and nephews; and great neighbors, Steve Quinn and Kay Junion.
A Celebration of Life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Veterans Hall on First St., Monticello, Iowa.
