GARRY W. BYE

Garry W. Bye, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at ManorCare in Cedar Rapids. Private graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service assisted the family.
Garry was born on Oct. 30, 1934, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of William and
Nora (Nye) Bye. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Garry married Sonia Marshall on March 10, 1957, in Montrose, Iowa. He enjoyed socializing at the Moose Lodge and having a beer with his buddies.
Survivors include his sons, Kyle (Julie) Bye and Kevin Bye; grandchildren, Michelle, Zach, Alex (Katie) and Jordan Bye; three great-grandchildren, Wolf, Warren and Dillon; brother, Larry (Margaret) Bye; and many nieces and nephews.
Garry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sonia; son, Kerry Bye; siblings, Maxine West, Hope Spray, Margaret Vice and Bob Bye; nephews, Mike Vice and Dennis Bye; and daughter-in-law, Megan Bye.
