Garling, Marlyn G. 'Bud'
Marlyn G. “Bud” Garling, 85, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, in his home under hospice care. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at First Lutheran Church, Belle Plaine, by Pastor Dean Duncan. Burial will be in the Keystone Cemetery, with military rites. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine.
He is survived by his wife, Mardene; sons, Gene (Nancy) Garling of Belle Plaine and Keith (Christine) Garling of Iowa City; daughter, Sandra (Todd) Walton of Belle Plaine; sister-in-law, Thelma Kusel of Keystone; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Selma (Waterman) Garling; brother, Orville; granddaughter, Erica Forcht; and brother-in-law, Loren Kusel.
