Garien, Helen
Helen Garien, 94, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Higley Mansion, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at First Presbyterian Church, Monticello, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Al Polito will officiate at the services. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, is in charge of the arrangements.
Surviving are two sons, Robert L. (Jan), Marion, and Alan R., Rockford, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Garien, Clinton; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, six stepgreat-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
