Gardner, Mary Ann
Mary Ann Gardner, 75, of 1501 F Ave. NW, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a courageous battle with dialysis. Services:
11 a.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home, by the Rev. Phil Thompson. Burial: St. John Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. and Tuesday after
10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mary Ann is survived by two adopted daughters, Julie Heath and Sarah Driskell of Cedar Rapids; friends, Phyl Britcher, Belva Schwer and Shannon Boothe, all of Cedar Rapids; and her cat, Hershey.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lumir, Leo and Milo Kriz; and many cousins.
Mary Ann was born April 30, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Lumir and Lillian Barta Kriz. She worked at Central Supply Aid at St. Luke's Hospital. Listening to music, bicycling and going on walks were some of the things Mary Ann enjoyed. As everyone knows, she loved cats. Mary Ann loved and appreciated all of her friends and caregivers.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Milestones.
