Gar Ruprecht, 81, of Solon, Iowa, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, at his home. A funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial: Shueyville Cemetery, Shueyville, Iowa.
Gar was born Oct. 11, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the son of George and Ruth (Mueller) Ruprecht. He graduated from Clarence High School, Class of 1959. Gar went on to obtain a degree in accounting from AIB College of Business in Davenport, Iowa. He served honorably in the United States Army. Gar was united in marriage to Nancy Meyer on March 19, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nev. Gar worked as an accountant for many years and retired from LL Pelling Co. as their safety director.
Survivors include his children, Monte Ruprecht and Steve (Christine) Meeker; grandchildren, Mitchell Ruprecht, Myles Ruprecht, Riley (Brandon) Hackman, Taryn (Scotie) Noethe, Bryce (Haley) Meeker, Cassidy Meeker, and Trisstyn (Scott) Meeker; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Gavin, Aubrey, Vivian, and Prescot; brother-in-law, John Meyer; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Meyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Ruprecht; wife, Nancy Ruprecht; and daughter-in-law, Shelly Ruprecht.
