Gallagher, Troy D.
Troy D. Gallagher, 39, of Waukon, formerly of Alburnett, died Saturday, July 17, 2010, as the result of an auto accident near Farmersburg, Iowa. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, where there will be a 4 p.m. Scripture service.
Troy Daniel Gallagher was born on Dec. 4, 1970, in Waukon, Iowa, to Dan and Renay (Rissman) Gallagher. In 1974, the family moved to Alburnett, Iowa. While in school he enjoyed the sport of wrestling and graduated from the Alburnett High School in 1990. For many years he worked as a concrete pourer for Bernet Construction of Marion. He was a member of the Laborers Local #43 Union in Cedar Rapids. In November 2009, he moved back to Waukon, and was currently employed by Bruening Construction of Decorah. Troy enjoyed working with his 1969 Camaro, motorcycles and deer hunting, having shot a 13 point buck on his 25th birthday. Most of all Troy cherished the time he spent with his children and nieces and nephews, as well as frequent visits to his Grandpa Gallagher.
Survivors include his children, Olivia and Andrew Gallagher of Marion; parents, Dan and Renay Gallagher of Waukon; three siblings, Travis (Cheri Oler) Gallagher and Tanya (Mark) Keeney, all of Alburnett, and Trent Gallagher of Midway; five nieces and nephews, Trey, Danica and Parker Gallagher, and Paige and Gunnar Keeney; his grandmother, Bonnie Rissman of Waukon; his grandfather, Vernon Gallagher of Waukon; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Frances Gallagher; his grandfather, Herbert Rissman; and three uncles, Pat and David Gallagher and Randy Rissman.
