Galen Harms, 89, of Anamosa, died Monday, July 11, 2023, at Jones Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family.
Galen leaves behind his devoted wife, Zita; three children, Gaile, Duane and (Janette) Harms, both of Anamosa, and Diane (Larry) Martinson of Marion; seven grandchildren, Kurt (Catie), Forrest (Kaylee), Amanda (Chris) Martinson, Kristine Munier, Kristine Jen, Duane Jr., and Abby Lee Harms; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Edward and Martha Harms; a brother, Raymond Harms; parents-in-law, Hugo and Ola Ress; sister-in-law, Ramona Ress; and brothers-in-law, Hugo Jr. and Benjamin Ress Sr.
Goettsch Funeral Home has taken Galen and his family into their care. Private family services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, with interment in the Wayne Zion Cemetery. Pastor Wade Reddy officiated at the services.
