Gaebler, Sally Lou Hisey
Sally Lou Hisey Gaebler was born August 25, 1953, and died June 4, 2012. She often said that her life was a testimony of her cluelessness and the Lord's unfailing providence. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hope Evangelical Church in North Liberty by the Rev. Jeff DeBoer. Private family interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Sally grew up in Lake Stevens, Wash. She appreciated natural beauty wherever she sojourned, but especially loved that of the Pacific Northwest. She worked with computers at the Central Intelligence Agency and the University of Missouri - Rolla, home-schooled 26 years, coached math and science teams, tutored, and for seven glorious months taught math at Cono Christian School. She also wrote songs and poems of varied merit.
Sally adored her husband, Bob, whom she married on August 5, 1978; treasured her children, Rob, Dave and wife Leslie, Tim, Carl Philipp, Leif, Evan, Ehren and Marcie, each of whom she loved the best; and delighted in her grandsons, Timothy and Iain. Her brothers, J.D. and John; her sister, Jan; and her mother, Verna, love her as much as she loved them. She was grateful for all those who touched her life.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
