Gade, Darlene M.
Darlene M. Gade, 84, of Clarence, died Thursday, May 27, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral services: 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, by the Rev. David Mears. Burial: church cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Survivors include her daughters, Deanna (Russ) Kross of Dayton, Ohio and Marlys Gade of Des Moines; grandchildren, Jeff (Cindy) Kross of Macon, Ga., Brenda Kross of Dayton,Ohio, Teresa (Brian) Greenlee of Dayton, Ohio, Emily Minnis (Leslie Prieto) of Eugene, Ore., and Ben (Kacy) Minnis of Eugene, Ore.; great-grandchildren, Riley, Mackenzie, Madison Kross, Brooke, Tanner and Brandi Greenlee and Violet Kalet Minnis; and brothers, Jamie (Joyce) Ibsen of Wichita, Kan., and Bill (Jane) Ibsen of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Born March 16, 1926, in Cedar County, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Wanda (Goldsmith) Ibsen, she married Leroy Gade on Aug. 5, 1944, in Clarence. He died in 1998. Darlene was a member of St. John's Church and had been active in the community. Online condolences may be left at
