Gable, Arlene
Arlene Gable, 91, passed away Nov. 6, 2012, in Fishers, Ind.
Born Aug. 9, 1921, in Madrid, Iowa, to Edwin and Winifred Ostberg, she graduated from Madrid High School and attended AIB Business College in Des Moines. After marrying Robert Gable in 1943, they were Cedar Rapids residents until 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with visitation one hour before the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was a loving, stay-at-home wife and mother and sometimes worked as a secretary. She loved the Lord and was very involved in music and missions programs at the Ellis Park Church of God for 62 years. She was an accomplished pianist/organist.
She is survived by her five children, Jan Hahn of Albuquerque, N.M., Lynette (Terry) Jones of Anderson, Ind., Jerry (Vicki) Gable of Rowland Heights, Calif., Marlene (Rodger) Cecil of Palmdale, Calif., and David (Teresa) Gable of Simpsonville, S.C.; a brother, Bill (Donna) Ostberg of Madrid, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother, Jack; and sister, Margene.
